The doctor, 45, cannot be publicly identified under South Australian law while the criminal proceedings are in the early stages. He is charged with two counts of engaging in sexual intercourse without consent and nine aggravated counts of indecent assault. Police allege the crimes involved a female patient, between 2010 and July last year. The doctor was arrested recently after a police investigation over several months. He was granted police bail and faced the Port Adelaide court. Magistrate Alfio Grasso adjourned the case to a hearing in Adelaide Magistrates Court in October when prosecutors will provide declarations. The medical clinic where the doctor had been working refused to comment to the ABC on where or whether he was now employed. Police said the Medical Board was aware of the allegations and had imposed conditions of practice on the man.
